The Greater Amsterdam School District welcomes Kaitlyn Spencer as the new Assistant Principal at Lynch Literacy Academy. She was appointed by the Board of Education in June and will begin July 1.
She will join the LLA administrative team that includes Principal Bryan Wood and Assistant Principal Charles Myers.
Spencer comes to GASD from the Albany Leadership Charter School for Girls where she has been Assistant Principal since 2021. Prior to that she was a Special Education at Albany Leadership High (2021), Special Education Department Chairperson/Elementary School for the Houston Independent School District/Texas (2018-21), Special Education Teacher and Grade 5 Teacher for the Baltimore County Public School District/Maryland (2017-18).
Spencer earned a master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas/Houston, TX, and a bachelor’s degree in Integrated Elementary and Special Education from Towson University/Maryland. She is also certified as a School Building Leader in New York State.
