Lynch Literacy Academy concluded Kindness Month on Monday, Oct. 31 with student discussions and activities focusing on improving the climate and culture of their school. Teachers, in individual classes and circle groups, engaged students a variety of activities that focused on:
- safety and security
- the harmful effects of bullying/cyberbullying
- how to be an upstander rather than a bystander
- embracing diversity
- being kind, inclusive and mindful of others
As the school year moves forward, we hope these discussions and activities, and the many other events from Kindness Month, will serve as a springboard for helping our students develop empathy and make better decisions when they are confronted with confrontation and issues with adults and their peers. Parent/guardians – we encourage you to continue discussions with your children about the importance of safety and the consequences for making poor decisions and harming others.
