Congratulations to Amsterdam High School senior band student Aaron Madej was recently selected to participate in the New York State School Music Association Zone 7 Area All-State Concert Band Nov. 19. This selective Honors Ensemble consisted of outstanding musicians from around the capital region. Madej was chosen based on his outstanding score of 99 on a level 5 NYSSMA solo. Immediately following his Area All-State debut, Madej displayed his dedication to the Marching Rams by going directly from his concert band performance to march in the Schenectady Holiday parade where he serves as low brass section leader.
