Javier DeJesus (Senior french, horn player) and Matthew Young (Junior, alto saxophonist) recently participated in the New York State School Music Association Area All-State Zone 7 Honors Concert Band (NYSSMA) on Saturday, Nov. 18.
Both students were selected for participation along with other musicians from across the region based on their outstanding scores at the spring 2023 NYSSMA solo festival. Javier and Matthew rehearsed for over 10 hours in the span of two days under the baton of guest conductor Armand Hall from the Eastman School of Music.
Following the concert, the duo participated in the Schenectady Holiday Parade with their fellow Marching Rams. We congratulate both of them on all of their hard work and this great accomplishment!
