Animal Shelter

McNulty Kindergarten classes have participated in an inspiring service-learning project aimed at supporting our local animal shelter, the Montgomery County SPCA. With enthusiasm and dedication, the young students have initiated a school-wide donation drive, already making an impact by donating over $350 worth of supplies, with another week of fundraising efforts ahead.

Last Monday, Mrs. Ponzi's class had the opportunity to take their learning beyond the classroom with a field trip to the SPCA. Jan Zumbolo, a member of the Board of Directors, guided the students through a behind-the-scenes tour, providing valuable insights into the operations of the shelter and the essential care provided to its residents. It was a great experience for the kindergarteners, enhancing their commitment to the cause.

The students extend their heartfelt gratitude to their fellow schoolmates for contributing to the success of the supply drive. Their generosity and support have been crucial in making a difference in the lives of animals in need.

The kindergarteners urge the community to consider visiting the Montgomery County SPCA when seeking to add a new furry member to their family. With countless animals awaiting their homes, each adoption represents a opportunity to provide love and companionship to a shelter pet in need.

Through this service-learning project, McNulty Kindergarten showcases the spirit of compassion, empathy, and community engagement. Together, they are making a positive impact on the lives of animals and fostering a culture of kindness and generosity within the school and beyond.
