High School Students

Amsterdam High School students recently enjoyed an enriching day at the New York State Museum in Albany, where they engaged in hands-on learning and deepened their understanding of science and history. This educational field trip provided students with an invaluable opportunity to step outside the classroom and experience exhibits that bring academic subjects to life.

During their visit, students explored interactive displays that allowed them to connect classroom concepts with real-world applications. The highlight of the day was an exclusive session with an Ice Age paleontologist in the Huxley Theater. This unique experience sparked curiosity as students learned about ancient species and the scientific process behind paleontological discoveries. Although photos of this special session weren’t allowed, students were captivated by the insights they gained.

The visit concluded with a ride on the museum’s historic carousel, adding a joyful and memorable finish to an already exciting day. This field trip not only fostered a love for learning but also emphasized the importance of exploring new environments to broaden students’ perspectives. Amsterdam High School extends gratitude to everyone who supported this valuable experience, helping students build connections between their studies and the world around them.
