Amsterdam High School seniors had the chance to experience a behind-the-scenes look at the food distribution industry during a field trip to Driscoll Foods. Students toured the company’s impressive warehouse facility, learning about the logistics and operations that keep the food supply chain running smoothly.
The visit offered an eye-opening look at the variety of career opportunities available in the food distribution industry, right here in Amsterdam. From inventory management to transportation logistics, students were introduced to the essential roles that contribute to this fast-paced field.
Superintendent Richard Ruberti emphasized the importance of connecting students with local businesses to broaden their career horizons. “Experiences like this are invaluable for our students. They help bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world opportunities while showing them the career potential available right in their own community,” said Ruberti.
Field trips like this one are part of Amsterdam High School’s ongoing commitment to preparing students for life beyond the classroom by fostering career awareness and real-world readiness.
