Turkey Teacher

McNulty Elementary School’s annual Turkey Teacher fundraiser was a resounding success, raising an impressive $1,167 to support the local food pantry. Thanks to the food pantry’s partnership with the regional food bank, this donation will translate into over $12,000 worth of food for families in the community during the holiday season.

The fundraiser, organized by the McNulty Student Council, is a beloved tradition at the school. For one week, students purchase paper feathers for ten cents each and gift them to staff members of their choice. At the end of the week, the feathers are tallied, and the teacher with the most feathers earns the coveted Turkey Teacher title.

This year, Mallory Collier, a fourth-grade teacher, claimed the honor with an impressive 1,300 feathers on her turkey! Joining her in the Turkey Court are:

  • Hanna Miller (Kindergarten)

  • Robyn Kowalczyk (Kindergarten)

  • Jennifer Porter (Second Grade)

  • Jenny Koonz (Third Grade)

  • Kerri DiCaprio (Fifth Grade)

McNulty Elementary is proud of the generosity and enthusiasm displayed by its students, staff, and community members. Their efforts will make a significant impact in ensuring local families have access to food this holiday season.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event such a meaningful and successful tradition!
