The Amsterdam Marching Rams brought home a first-place win during their recent performance at America’s Hometown Thanksgiving Celebration Parade in Plymouth, Massachusetts. After weeks of dedicated rehearsals, the band showcased their talent, precision, and hard work during this prestigious competition.

The parade, known for its historically accurate representation of America’s rich heritage, featured high school marching bands from across the country, including Massachusetts and New Jersey. The Rams performed in steady rain and wind along the scenic Plymouth waterfront, marching the full mile and a half with unwavering determination.

Students were judged on Music, Percussion, Marching, and Majorettes/Color Guard, with each category scored out of 10 points. The Marching Rams earned the highest overall score, taking home a plaque, a cash prize, and the pride of representing Amsterdam with excellence.

The students were led by Senior Drum Major Matthew Young, Junior Drum Major Alexandra Forte, Majorette Captain Zoe Naish, Majorette Co-Captain Olivia Dion, and Color-Guard Captains Emily Leonard and Izzy Gibbs.

Their victory was celebrated during an awards ceremony at a Drum and Bugle Corps show, where the band’s dedication and teamwork were rewarded. Congratulations to the Amsterdam Marching Rams for their outstanding achievement and for proudly representing the Greater Amsterdam School District on a national stage!
