Amsterdam High School welcomed John Witt, founder and president of Witt Construction in Saratoga Springs, for a special presentation aimed at inspiring students to consider careers in the skilled trades. Mr. Witt, a prominent member of the Northeast Construction Trades Workforce Coalition, shared his personal career journey and emphasized the critical role that skilled tradespeople play in the success of his custom homebuilding company.

The Northeast Construction Trades Workforce Coalition is dedicated to “educating, inspiring, and connecting people in pursuit of rewarding careers in the trades, driving economic growth while building and sustaining our communities.” During his visit, Mr. Witt highlighted the rewarding opportunities available in skilled trades and the importance of fostering interest in these essential professions among young people.

Superintendent Richard Ruberti praised the presentation, saying, “Encouraging students to explore careers in the skilled trades is an important part of preparing them for success after high school. These careers are not only rewarding but are also vital to the economic growth and sustainability of our communities.”

Mr. Witt’s visit provided students with an engaging perspective on the diverse career pathways available in construction and other trade industries. Amsterdam High School thanks Mr. Witt for taking the time to inspire and educate students and for his commitment to supporting the next generation of skilled professionals.
