National Grid

Greater Amsterdam School District (GASD) fourth and fifth-grade students recently participated in an educational presentation from National Grid as part of their STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) curriculum. The presentation supported students’ learning in Project Lead the Way, a program focused on energy conversion, efficiency, and the differences between renewable and nonrenewable energy sources.

Paul Marozzi from National Grid spoke to students about how electricity and gas are delivered to homes and provided important safety information related to energy use. The presentation reinforced key concepts from their classroom studies and helped students understand real-world applications of energy.

“This opportunity allows our students to connect classroom learning to real-life experiences,” said Superintendent Richard Ruberti. “Understanding energy and its impact is essential, and we appreciate National Grid’s support in bringing this important topic to our students.”

By engaging with industry professionals, GASD students gain valuable insights into energy systems, safety, and sustainability. The district continues to integrate hands-on learning experiences to enhance student understanding of STEAM subjects.
